2022 Reflections: Walking With My Camera: Merging and Re-Member-ing – A Fall Evening

This is my delight

thus to wait and watch at the wayside

where shadow chases light

from Where Shadow Chases Light by Rabindranath Tagore

The New Year offers opportunity for reflection and action.

I started to sort through some 2022 images that I hadn’t explored

and came across some photographs from an early evening walk to the mail box last October.

The late sun deepened the intensity of the colors – an invitation

sun at the end of the day

the tilt toward winter

the bright stillness of leaves

a brilliance of spent Chokecherry, Flax, Horsetail, Hawthorn, Serviceberry, Red Osier Dogwood, Cottonwood, Willow…

may we greet the dance in celebration

with respect

and whisper and shout to each small thread weaving us together

Thank You, Thank You

may we step into the responsibilities that are ours

in our kinship with the web of life that makes our lives possible

May we Re-Member

For each of us, may this New Year be filled with curiosity, creativity and compassion

Best wishes for your health in 2023 ~ Youpa
