Walking with My Camera: Ponderosa Reflections

6/25/17

I walk the same paths nearly every day and sometimes I think that I will run out of things to photograph but there are infinite combinations in the light, time of year, weather, the variations of life forms and my point of view on any given day. This week I found many views of Ponderosa Pine trees.

I love the colors of Ponderosa bark in the evening. Sometimes burnt umber glowing orange in the late sun, sometimes a coral wash of brightness in the early evening…

…mixed with sky and grasses. Without these towering trees I would not have this palette. I sometimes say to myself ‘this too is Ponderosa”― to help me remember there are many views depending on how many layers I see and acknowledge.
