Walking with My Camera: What We Can See

8/12/17

We talk of smoke, smoke, smoke and share stories about the fires―where they are, how much has burned. There are no fires too close to our home but in many places we share this thick air and we know the names of these Montana fires―Liberty, Rice Ridge, Gibraltar Ridge, Lolo Peak, Sprague, Sunrise, Little Hogback, Sapphire, Goat Creek, Sliderock… We hope for the safety of the firefighters and support teams and send our gratitude for their service.

The smokey flat light transforms the irrigation ditch.

The views are altered by this veil of water vapor, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, volitile organic compounds and very small particles.**

Here’s to what we can see and to the breath we have.
